The Liberating Purple Star Collective (LPSC) is a trans-led, Deaf-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Deaf caregivers and their children, particularly those who are trans, non-binary, or gender-diverse.

We began as Purple Seahorse, a grassroots space for parents to connect and support one another. Recognizing the greater needs of our community, we officially became LPSC in October 2024, with a dedicated board and renewed focus on cultural, linguistic, and social advocacy.

Our mission is to create inclusive, sustainable support systems that ensure families and their children are seen, validated, and empowered. We offer resources, mentorship, and advocacy services, both in-person in the DMV area and virtually nationwide, to bridge gaps in support for underserved communities.

At LPSC, we believe in building a world where every family thrives, and every child feels affirmed in their identity.
